Unit Overview: | |
This unit explores the visual representation of data to help users analyse, interpret and make decisions using that data. Students will learn how to present data where there is a mapping between visual cues (size, colour, chart) and an underlying statistic or data value. Students will receive a grounding in the methods and tools by which data can be presented in visual form. The perspective in this unit is accounting-based financial information and decision-making based on that information. The unit also presents the models, systems and methods associated with managing large data sets and evaluates the useful characteristics of available data sources. The unit helps to identify and use prominent data presentation architectures and to create data coherence. |
