Unit Overview:
This unit examines the ways blockchain technology has expanded its application to the commercial sector and the opportunities for further use. Through case studies, students will examine various adoptions of blockchain in commerce and evaluate its applications in specific business contexts and its contribution to an expanding digital economy. The unit will also address the legal, ethical, governance and implementation issues relating to blockchain applications in business and investigate and interpret future trends in blockchain and associated technologies. Students will learn how commercial organisations can adopt blockchain technology to achieve a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
