This subject examines the role of human resources management in the development of a wider organisational strategy and assesses how best to manage human resources in a modern working environment. The subject commences with a review of the Australian human resources landscape from a regulatory perspective by studying the relevant regulations and codes pertinent to human resource management. It further addresses the area of workplace health and safety and how job design and specification affect the recruitment process. The subject extends to a description and analysis of induction, performance management, training and development, and ends with the rationale for compensation strategy deployments adopted by the firm. Though the legal content of the subject applies to an Australian workplace context, the subject also analyses international and global trends in human resource management. In completing TMGT600, each student will be required to complete the Graduate Skills Development Module “Writing 2 (Critical Reading, Thinking & Writing)”. |
