Unit Overview:
This unit primarily deals with international law human rights law. Students will be introduced to the theoretical underpinnings of the international human rights regime, its instruments, institutions and processes . Some contemporary issues of great significance will also be considered.The aim of the unit is assist students to gain a much greater understanding of the relationship between global legal issues and national forms of legal regulation. The international human rights regime as it has developed since World War II is well-adapted to help students understand how international legal processes operate alone and in combination with regional and national legal regulation.
