 Unit Overview:
This unit examines the complex issues relating to systems and data security including malicious attacks, threats, and vulnerabilities and the various factors that affect information and systems security. It covers both the advanced operational and the technological aspects of managing the security of systems and their data. It also examines systems in a complex business setting where there are multiple IT systems and multiple sources of data. The unit also provides an opportunity to interpret and analyse complex security risks and identify possible responses. Cryptography and network security are also evaluated in the context of data security as well as various Australian and international information security standards.The unit also allows students to examine the impact of ICT, system security and data assurance on business operations and to identify ways of working with stakeholders to evaluate enterprise cybersecurity issues. It provides an avenue for exploring stakeholder communications with individuals and teams as well as the infrastructure requirements of sound enterprise-level digital security.
