This unit studies the role of digitalisation and AI in planning, transacting, accounting and controlling in taxation environments. It evaluates the role of digitalisation in taxation operations and the use of digital technologies for compliance, reporting, analysis and advice. Visualisation and automation in a working context are evaluated within the realm of taxation operations and process automation. Internal workflows for the use of digitised technologies in taxation are examined and interpreted. Tableau is introduced as a tool for visualisation and Alteryx as a tool for Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) transactions. Data automation, data visualisation and process automation are also evaluated and the Alteryx Lead Schedule (Report) preparation tool is utilised. Using UI Path for Intelligent Process Automation (IPA) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is also undertaken as well as conducting predictive analytics. PwC’s Financial Processes Analyser and machine learning applications are studied and used as well as a review of the major AI, automation and digitalisation tools available for the potential use in a taxation setting. |
