Student voices play a vital role in shaping the student experience and driving positive change within the Institute. Becoming a Student Representative is an opportunity to contribute to key decisions, advocate for student needs, and ensure that student perspectives are heard at the highest levels.

Why Student Representation Matters
Student Representatives:
- Advocate for student interests and concerns
- Participate in key decision-making processes
- Help shape policies and initiatives that impact students
- Develop valuable leadership, communication, and networking skills
- Strengthen their understanding of governance and advocacy
Student Representative Roles
- The Academic Board – Contributing to academic policies, curriculum improvements, and educational standards.
- The Student Grievance Committee (SGC) – Ensuring student concerns are addressed fairly and effectively.
Commitment & Responsibilities
- Attend regular committee meetings to discuss student-related matters.
- Advocate for student needs and propose initiatives to enhance student experiences.
- Act as a liaison between students and the Institute.
- Each appointment lasts a minimum of seven months (two terms).
How to Apply
When a Student Representative position becomes available, the Institute will send an email notification and run campaigns with details on the application process. Students can:
- Nominate themselves or
- Nominate a fellow student who would be a strong representative
