Each year, the Australian National Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC) offers various scholarships and awards. These honors recognise outstanding academic performance, leadership qualities, and community involvement, providing support to both domestic and international students by covering tuition fees as appropriate. The selection criteria differ, and certain awards may require interviews as part of the process.

Scholarships

Principal’s Outstanding Award (Dom – Bus)

  • Value: Full scholarship. $12,000 p.a.
  • Course Area: Business
  • Student Type: Domestic students only
  • Duration: minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type: Full-time student

Selection Process: Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis and at the discretion of the Dean of School, or his or her delegate, pursuant to the selection procedure outlined in the Terms and Conditions for Scholarship Awards.

This Award is available to domestic students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

This Award is available to eligible undergraduate Business applicants.

This Award is available to eligible undergraduate Business applicants.

The winning of this award precludes a student from eligibility for other Awards under the Institute’s Scholarship Program.

Evidentiary requirements include

For School leavers, Gap year students and Mature age students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of minimum 98.0 and other material submitted as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports and

recommendation letters

IMC’s Outstanding Achievement Award (Int/Dom – Bus)

  • Value: $8,000 p.a.
  • Course Area: Business

Selection Process: Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis and at the discretion of the Dean of School, or his or her delegate, pursuant to the selection procedure outlined in the Terms and Conditions for Scholarship Awards.

i. This Award is available to domestic and international students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered b Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

ii. The Award is available to eligible undergraduate Business applicants.

iii. The winning of this award precludes a student from eligibility for other Awards under the Institute’s Scholarship Program.

iv. Evidentiary requirements include

a) For School leavers, Gap year students and Mature age students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of a minimum 95.0 and records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports and recommendation letter

b) For International students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of a minimum 90.0, original foreign passport, student visa documents, IELTS results indicating the required score of 7.0 or its equivalent as a minimum as well as secondary school reports.

v. The student who is the recipient of this Award must ensure that they maintain a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.0 each year i.e. distinctions each year as a full-time student in order to maintain their eligibility to this Award.

Australian National Institute of Management and Commerce Award (Int/Dom – Bus)

  • Value: $3,000 p.a.
  • Course Area: Business
  • Student Type: Domestic and international students

Selection Process: Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis and at the discretion of the Dean of School, or his or her delegate, pursuant to the selection procedure outlined in the Terms and Conditions for Scholarship Awards.

i. This Award is available to domestic and international students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by the Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

ii. This Award is available to eligible undergraduate Business applicants only.

iii. Evidentiary requirements include

a) For School leavers, Gap year students and Mature age students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of a minimum of 90.0, records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports, and a recommendation letter from the student’s secondary school/employer/community organisation and others as applicable. Documents are to establish a student’s commitment and achievement of academic merit and contribution to leadership in the schooling and wider community e.g. extracurricular activities, mentoring programs, charity and fundraising activities.

b) For International students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of a minimum of 87.0, original foreign passport, student visa, IELTS results indicating the required score of 7.0 or its equivalent as a minimum as well as secondary school reports. International students are also to provide an English translated recommendation letter as described above.

c) For all previous Tertiary students, certified copies of academic transcripts are requested to establish a minimum credit average.

iv. The student who is the recipient of this Award must ensure that they maintain a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.0 each year i.e. distinctions each year as a full-time student in order to maintain their eligibility to this Award.

Young Achiever (Int/Dom – Bus)

  • Value: $2,000 p.a.
  • Course Area: Business
  • Student Type: Domestic and international students
  • Duration: Minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type: Full-time student

Selection Process: Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis and at the discretion of the Dean of School, or his or her delegate, pursuant to the selection procedure outlined in the Terms and Conditions for Scholarship Awards.

i. This Award is available to domestic and international students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

ii. The Award is available to eligible undergraduate Business applicants.

iii. Evidentiary requirements include

a) For School leavers and Gap year students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of minimum 85.0 and records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports. This Award not only focuses on academic merit but also on a student’s involvement in leadership within their school environment. A recommendation letter from the student’s secondary school/employers/community organisation and others as applicable will also be required. Documents are to establish the student’s leadership skills and the initiatives they have been involved in which have required the exercise of leadership skills e.g. leadership positions held in school, Student Representative Councils and student leadership programs.

b) For International students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of a minimum of 85.0, the original foreign passport, student visa, IELTS results indicating the required score of 7.0 or its equivalent as a minimum as well as secondary school reports. International students are also to provide a translated recommendation letter as described above.

c) The student who is the recipient of this Award must ensure that they maintain a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.0 each year i.e. credits each year as a full-time student in order to maintain their eligibility to this Award.

Dean’s Award (Int/Dom – Bus)

  • Value: $2,000 p.a.
  • Course Area: Business
  • Student Type: Domestic and international students
  • Duration: Minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type: Full-time student

Selection Process: Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis and at the discretion of the Dean of School, or his or her delegate, pursuant to the selection procedure outlined in the Terms and Conditions for Scholarship Awards.

i. This Award is available to domestic and international students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

ii. The Award is available to eligible undergraduate Business applicants.

iii. Evidentiary requirements include

a) For School leavers, Gap year students and Mature age students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of 85.0 and records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports. This Award not only focuses on academic merit but also on a student’s contribution to the wider community. A recommendation letter from the student’s secondary school/employers/community organisation or any other references will be required to establish the student’s contribution and involvement in the community e.g. mentoring programs, volunteering for a community-based organisation, organising charity or fundraising activities for the community.

b) For International students: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of a minimum of 85.0, the original foreign passport, student visa, IELTS results indicating the required score of 7.0 or its equivalent as a minimum as well as secondary school reports. International students are also to provide a translated recommendation letter as described above.

c) For all previous Tertiary students, academic transcripts are requested to establish a minimum credit average.

iv. The student who is the recipient of this Award must ensure that they maintain a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.0 each year i.e. credits each year eight (8) units in order to maintain their eligibility to this Award.

Innovative Minds Scholarship (Dom – Bus)

  • Value: $600.00, one-off award
  • Course Area: Business
  • Student Type: Domestic students only
  • Duration: Minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type: Full-time student

Selection Process: Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis and at the discretion of the Dean of School, or his or her delegate, pursuant to the selection procedure outlined in the Terms and Conditions for Scholarship Awards

i. This Award is available to domestic students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

ii. Evidentiary requirements include

a) For school leavers and non-school leavers: ATAR results (or its equivalent) of 85.0 and records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports. The ATAR may include adjustment factors.

b) The Award is assessed based on established eligibility criteria and the evidence provided and their interview with the student as part of the application process.

Academic Excellence Award (Int/ Dom – Bus)

  • Value: $500.00 or $1000.00
  • Course Area: Business
  • Student Type: Domestic and International Students
  • Enrolment Type: Full-time student

i. A student will be eligible to receive an Academic Excellence Award based on their academic results, based on the following

$500 reward: average mark between 85-89 marks for any four (4) subjects in one (1) term of study; or

$1,000 reward; average mark above 90+ for any four (4) subjects in one (1) term of study.

II. The student will not be eligible for any reward if the student reaches the above average marks for his/her first term but does not enrol in a further four (4) subject within the next two (2) terms.

III. The monetary reward will be paid by electronic funds transfer to a bank account nominated by the student at the end of each calendar year after the student has completed at least two (2) terms at IMC.

IV. The student must enrol in at least eight (8) or more subjects at IMC. The above reward will not be open to students who have only enrolled in one (1) term at IMC.

Brian Gibson Scholarship (Int/Dom – Bus)

Professor Brian Gibson was the inaugural Senior Director of Research and Curriculum Development at Top Education Institute. Professor Gibson was also Director of International Accounting Programs at Rangsit University (Thailand), the conjoint professor at the University of Newcastle Business School, and a former President of SEAANZ (Small Enterprise Association of Australia and New Zealand).

Professor Gibson was a long-term colleague and friend of TOP, and we cannot express enough our appreciation for the work and dedication that he has given to our Institute. He will be missed greatly.

Top Education Institute has established a scholarship in memory of Professor Brian Gibson for his distinguished service to TOP as its foundation Director of Research, for his development of the Master of Business Research and his sustained guidance and encouragement of research and scholarship endeavours at TOP.

The Brian Gibson Scholarship has been awarded annually to the most outstanding applicant for the Master of Business Research in that year whereby fees up to the full course are exempted. The successful candidate will be determined by TOP’s Higher Degree Research and Scholarship Committee.
School’s Award (Dom – Bus)

This Award is available to domestic students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by Law or Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

The Award is available to all eligible Law applicants and to eligible undergraduate Business applicants.

Evidentiary requirements for School leavers, Gap year students and Mature age students include

  • ATAR results (or its equivalent) of 85.0 and records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports and a written submission establishing additional criteria.
  • Evidentiary requirements for previous Tertiary students include academic transcripts that are required to establish a minimum credit average.


To establish financial hardship, a written submission is to be made to the Dean of School and is to include the following details

  • Centrelink benefits (if any)
  • The student’s and their partner’s gross income for the previous two financial years and
  • Details on any dependents and on any investments that the student may have.
  • For any other disadvantages, the student may prepare a written submission and provide supporting documentation on any personal disadvantages i.e. health issues, family and personal circumstances.
  • The student who is the recipient of this Award must ensure that they maintain a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.0 each year i.e. credits each year as a full-time student in order to maintain their eligibility to this Award.
  • The Award is to be determined by the Dean of School or his nominee based on their assessment of the criteria to be applied and the evidence provided.

Mature Age/Non-School Leaver Scholarship (Dom – Bus)

  • Value $2000.00 pa
  • Course Area Law/Business
  • Student Type: Domestic students only
  • Duration: minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type: Fulltime student
Selection Process All successful applicants must be able to demonstrate financial hardship
  • This Award is available to domestic students enrolled in at least eight 8 units per year offered by Law or Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year
  • The Award is available to all eligible Law applicants and to eligible undergraduate Business applicants
  • Evidentiary requirements for Gap year and Mature age students include ATAR results or its equivalent of 850 and records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports and a written submission establishing additional criteria
  • A written submission is to be made to the Dean of School or his nominee and is to include the following details
  • All schooling and work experience as outlined in a current Curriculum Vitae CV and previous informal study must be disclosed in the submission
To establish financial hardship the submission is to include the following details
  • Centrelink benefits if any
  • The students and their partners if applicable gross income for the previous two financial years and
  • Details on any dependents and on any investments that the student may have
For any other disadvantages, the student may prepare a written submission and provide supporting documentation on any personal disadvantages ie health issues family and personal circumstances
The student who is the recipient of this Award must ensure that they maintain a GPA Grade Point Average of 20 each year ie credits each year as a full time student in order to maintain their eligibility to this Award
The Award is assessed based on established eligibility criteria and the evidence provided
Regional Support (Dom – Bus)

  • Value $2000.00 pa
  • Course Area Law/Business
  • Student Type: Domestic students only
  • Duration: minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type: Fulltime student
  • Selection Process: All successful applicants must be able to present evidence of their residential address being a 70km radius or more from the Sydney CBD for a minimum duration of 6 months
This Award is available to domestic students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by Law or Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year
The Award is available to all eligible Law applicants and to eligible undergraduate Business applicants
Evidentiary requirements for School leavers Gap year students and Mature age students include ATAR results (or its equivalent) of 850 and records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports and a written submission establishing additional criteria
Evidentiary requirements for previous tertiary students include academic transcripts that are required to establish a minimum credit average
A written submission is to be made to the Dean of School and is to include the following details
  • The applicant is required to present evidence of their residential address being a 70km radius or more from the Sydney CBD for a minimum duration of 6 months In order to continue financial support per year the applicant shall present evidence of their residential location with the aforementioned region as requested by the Finance Department
  • To establish financial hardship the submission is to include the following details
      1. Centrelink benefits (if any)
      2. The students and their partners (if applicable) gross income for the previous two financial years
      3. Details on any dependents and on any investments that the student may have and
      4. Costs of relocation and reasonable living expenses associated with the relocation
For any other disadvantages the student may prepare a written submission and provide supporting documentation on any personal disadvantages ie health issues family and personal circumstances
The student who is the recipient of this Award must ensure that they maintain a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 20 each year ie credits each year eight (8) units student in order to maintain their eligibility to this Award
The Award is assessed based on established eligibility criteria and the evidence provided
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Entry Scholarship (Dom – Bus)

  • Value $5000.00 p.a
  • Course Area Law/Business
  • Student Type Domestic students only
  • Duration: minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type Full-time student
  • Selection Process Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students with demonstrated financial hardship commencing tertiary study for the first time.

i. This Award is available to domestic students who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by Law or Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

ii. The Award is available to all eligible Law applicants and to eligible undergraduate Business applicants.

iii. Evidentiary requirements for School leavers, Gap year students and Mature age students include ATAR results (or its equivalent) of 85.0 and records as part of the application process including any final secondary schooling reports and a written submission establishing additional criteria.

iv. Evidentiary requirements for previous Tertiary students include academic transcripts that are required to establish a minimum credit average.

v. A written submission is to be made to the Dean of School and is to include the following details

  • Confirmation of a student’s Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage


vi. The student who is the recipient of this Award must ensure that they maintain a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.0 each year i.e. credits each year as a full-time student in order to maintain their eligibility to this Award.

vii. The Award is assessed based on established eligibility criteria and the evidence provided.

International Excellence Scholarship (Int – Bus)

  • Value 15%-25% of tuition fee
  • Course Area Law/Business
  • Student Type International students only
  • Duration: minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type Full-time student
  • Selection Process Non-guaranteed entry

i. This Award is available to onshore international students that are enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by Law or Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

ii. This Award is available to eligible students that are granted less than 48 credit points from advanced standing.

iii. Evidentiary requirements

a) For the first-class award equivalent to 25% of tuition fees: tertiary results indicating that the student’s results are at a minimum 75% or distinction average, the original foreign passport, student visa and IELTS results meeting admission entry requirements.

b) For the second-class award equivalent to 15% of tuition fees: tertiary results indicating that the student’s results are at a minimum 65% or credit average for postgraduate study or at a minimum 55% for undergraduate study, the original foreign passport, student visa and IELTS results meeting admission entry requirements.

iv. The Institute allocates a limited number of these scholarships. As part of a competitive application process, students must submit the application before the cut-off date, normally 4 weeks before the Institute’s course commences, accept their full offer and pay their fees within 14 business days. A scholarship offer cannot be deferred.

v. The value of the Award is assessed based on established eligibility criteria and the evidence provided.

vi. This Award is dependent on the student ensuring compliance with their Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirements and visa obligations. If the Institute is put on notice of any non-compliance, the Award may be terminated in accordance with clause 4.

Global Young Leaders Scholarship (Int – Bus)

  • Value $4,000 one-off (first-tier) & $3,000 one-off (second-tier)
  • Course Area Business/Law
  • Student Type International students only
  • Duration minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type Full-time student
  • Selection Process Non-guaranteed entry

i. This Award is available to offshore international students that are enrolled in an International Pathway Program between the Institute and international universities/institutes. The Award will apply and take effect once the student engages in their studies at the Institute in Australia.

ii. The student is to be in Australia and enrolled at the Institute for a minimum eight (8) units per year which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year as part of the International Pathway Program in order to be eligible for this scholarship.

iii. Evidentiary requirements include, the original foreign passport, student visa, IELTS results indicating the required score of 6.5 or its equivalent for the first-class award and 6.0 or its equivalent for the second-class award as well as any academic transcripts. Students are also to provide an English translated recommendation letter that confirms that the student’s performance is in the top 20 % of their course.

iv. The Institute allocates a limited number of these scholarships. As part of a competitive application process, students must submit the application before the cut-off date, normally 4 weeks before the Institute’s course commences.

v. The Award is assessed based on established eligibility criteria and the evidence provided.

vi.
This Award is dependent on the student ensuring compliance with their Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirements and visa obligations. If the Institute is put on notice of any non-compliance, the Award may be terminated in accordance with clause 4.

English Language Achiever (Int – Bus)

  • Value $3,000 one-off (first-tier), $2,000 one-off (second-tier) & $1,000 one-off (third-tier)
  • Course Area Business/Law
  • Student Type International students only
  • Duration minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type Full-time student
  • Selection Process Non-guaranteed entry

i. This Award is available to offshore international students that are enrolled in an International Pathway Program between the Institute and international universities/institutes. The Award will apply and take effect once the student engages in their studies at the Institute in Australia.

ii. The student is to be in Australia and enrolled at the Institute for a minimum eight (8) units per year which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year as part of the International Pathway Program in order to be eligible for this Award.

iii. Evidentiary requirements include the original foreign passport, student visa, IELTS results indicating the required score

a) First-class Award: to achieve IELTS of 6.5 overall with minimum 6 in each band

b) Second-class Award: to achieve IELTS of 6.0 overall with minimum 5.5 in each band

c) Third-class Award: to achieve IELTS of 5.5 overall with minimum 5 in each band

iv.
The Institute allocates a limited number of these awards. As part of a competitive application process, students must submit the application before the cut-off date, normally 4 weeks before the Institute’s course commences, accept their full offer and pay their fees within 14 business days. A scholarship offer cannot be deferred.

v. The value of the Award is assessed based on established eligibility criteria and the evidence provided.

vi. This Award is dependent on the student ensuring compliance with their Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirements and visa obligations. If the Institute is put on notice of any non-compliance, the Award may be terminated in accordance with clause 4.

China Graduate Scholarship (Int – Bus)

  • Student Type International students only, Chinese Passport Holder Only
  • Duration minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type Full-time student
  • Selection Process Non-guaranteed entry

i.The student must have completed an equivalent Australian qualification, hold a valid Australian visa and Chinese passport.

ii. Meet the minimum admission entry requirements of IMC including English language proficiency.

iii. The student will be required to enrol in no less than 8 subjects per year.

iv. This Award is dependent on the student ensuring compliance with their Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirements and visa obligations.

v. During COVID-19, Students of our China coorperation program will be eligible to apply CGS from offshore.

Work Experience Scholarship

  • Value: $1,000 – $5,000
  • Course Area: Law/Business
  • Student Type: Domestic and International students
  • Duration: minimum length of course
  • Enrolment Type: Full-time student
  • Selection Process: Non-guaranteed entry

i. This Award is available to domestic and international students enrolled in at least eight (8) units per year offered by the Law or Business School which is equal to a total of 48 credit points per year.

ii. Students are also to provide evidence of significant Executive level work experience to the course enrolled prior to enrolling any the Institute’s courses.

iii. The student is not to defer or suspend their enrolment throughout the course.

iv. The Institute allocates a limited number of this scholarship. The value of the Award is assessed based on established eligibility criteria and the evidence provided.
