Unit Overview: | |
This unit introduces managers to the world of coding and programming that underlies much of the data analytic functions, tools and outputs used to derive information from data. After completing this unit, you will have a solid grasp of the techniques used to build data analytic programs, thereby improving your understanding of the information presented to you by data specialists. The coding language you will learn and use in this unit is Python. Python code is designed to be easy to read, while still being very powerful, which makes it an excellent language for a wide range of applications. It is the fastest-growing coding language used by data scientists for building data analytic computer programs. Python is becoming an integral part of the skill set in many professions, from finance and insurance to technology, healthcare, retail, and e-commerce. This unit is designed to get you off the sidelines and into the coding and programming action. This unit teaches you how to implement basic coding and programming skills for practical business applications. The curriculum includes mini-challenges designed to give you hands-on coding and programming practice. Ultimately, after completing this unit, you will be able to organise and analyse data efficiently — by writing your Python code. |
