Academic Entry Requirements - Domestic
Domestic Student
There are specific academic criteria for entry into each degree level, as listed below, which vary based on your educational background. Here is a guide for your reference:
Applicants with higher education study (Applicants whose highest level of study enrolment since leaving secondary education is a higher education course, whether at a university or non-university provider):
Completion, or substantial completion (75%), of an AQF Diploma or higher award from an Australian, accredited higher education provider
Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study (Applicants whose highest level of study enrolment since leaving secondary education is a VET course):
Completion of an AQF Certificate IV course in a relevant discipline from TAFE College or any Registered Training Organisation.
Applicants with work and life experience (Applicants who left secondary education more than two years ago and have not undertaken VET or higher education study since):
- Completion of the NSW Higher School Certificate within five years prior to application. OR
- Have work experience of two years full-time paid employment to apply for a Diploma. Work experience is to be in a business-related field. Part-time equivalents are acceptable.
Applicants with recent secondary education (Applicants who are a current Year 12 student and will complete schooling this year,or applicants who completed Year 12 schooling at any point over the past two years):
Completion of the Higher School Certificate (HSC)

Applicants with higher education study (Applicants whose highest level of study enrolment since leaving secondary education is a higher education course, whether at a university or non-university provider):
- Completion of at least one term of full-time study (or part-time equivalent) at a registered Australian higher education provider at AQF Level 5 Diploma or higher. OR
- Have completed a bridging or enabling course from a qualified provider and achieved 50% of the full mark.
Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study (Applicants whose highest level of study enrolment since leaving secondary education is a VET course):
Have completed at least an AQF Diploma level program from TAFE College or any Registered Training Organisation.
Applicants with work and life experience (Applicants who left secondary education more than two years ago and have not undertaken VET or higher education study since):
- Hold a STAT Multiple Choice test result of 120 or above. OR
- Have work experience of five years full-time paid employment to apply for a bachelor’s degree. Work experience should be in a related field based on the course being applied for. Part-time equivalents are acceptable.
Applicants with recent secondary education (Applicants who are a current Year 12 student and will complete schooling this year,or applicants who completed Year 12 schooling at any point over the past two years):
Completion of the NSW Higher School Certificate achieving an ATAR of at least 50. The applicants for Bachelor of Law (LLB) are required to achieve an ATAR of 85.
- An Australian bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification, including an overseas qualification); or
- Completion of a three-year post-secondary qualification, with an average pass mark of 70%, in a relevant discipline; or
- Three years’ relevant work experience

- An Australian bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification, including an overseas qualification); or
- Completion of a Graduate Certificate in a relevant discipline; or
- Eight years’ relevant work experience.

- An Australian bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification, including an overseas qualification)
- Completion of a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in a relevant discipline, or
