 Unit Overview:
This unit provides an introduction to information technology projects covering the fundamental components of planning and managing a variety of information technology projects. It covers scope management, change management, IT project planning and the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK). The unit also examines the interactions between data and systems, stakeholders and project implementation. Topics include the management of time, scope, budget, risk, quality and resources at each stage of a project. The Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBoK) is also involved along with IT project governance and reporting. Further, the relationship between project management, organisations, change and information systems project communications are assessed. Risk management, project integration management, project documentation, handover, training and support are also examined.
