 Unit Overview:
In this unit, students will learn the application of programming tools to analyse and visualise data to facilitate decision making in the real business world. It presents the applications of command lines and version control with git and GitHub as well as using markdown for documentation. The unit provide students with the opportunity to extend their coding skills of Python acquired in DAC604 Coding for Data Analytics to examines its functions and develop practical skills in problem solving by working on a real-world data analysis project of their choosing, using publicly available datasets. It covers the contemporary methods and techniques to analyse data frames and manipulate data, access databases, conduct data visualisation and use web API’s. Use of contemporary analytics tools and the application of interactive visualisation are parts of this unit. The students will have the opportunity to apply programming tools to specific data analysis problems as well as creating dynamic reports and building interactive web applications. Furthermore, the principles of team-leadership, professional considerations that need to be applied when working with data will be covered in this subject.
