It is conveniently located within 5 minutes walking distance from the local shopping district and close by to bus stops that service the city.

LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE
In the learning resource centre, students can access computers, a core and reference textbooks and e-books. Our staff are highly trained in information retrieval and analysis, and are available by appointment for assistance and training with information resources.
eLibrary
IMC also provides acquiring a large number of database and eBook resources. Students can access via our website http://library.staging.elcomcms.com/, is complete with subject-specific guides, and pages designed to assist students with every aspect of their learning and professional development. On the home page of our site is our search system, complete with Google-style functionality, giving students instant access, at a click, across the wide range of journal and eBook resources we have available for their research needs.
COPY AND PRINTING
We have copy and printing available in the Learning Resource Centre for students.The copy and printing cost is 10 cents for 1 side per page. Double sides copying and printing cost 20 cents per page. Student need to charge the credit to their account before using the services.
STUDENT WIFI
IMC provides free on site WIFI service for all students. The service covers all IMC campus areas.
TEACHING FACILITIES
IMC provides contemporary learning facilities for students. There are fully equipped lecture facilities with audio-visual projection equipment and a computer lab with fast internet access and appropriate software. There are study areas for groups and individuals in addition to teaching rooms. Staff and students may use computers, photocopiers, etc.
COUNSELLING SERVICE
We understand that students may need extra help and support to cope with stress or challenges of studying. IMC’s Student Services at our Hobart campus can offer advice and support to help students, to ensure their welfare and wellbeing. Our team can help students adjust to their new environment, deal effectively with difficult personal situations and advocate on behalf of students. Our team at the Hobart campus also has connections with LIFE SUPPORTS, which is a leading network of counsellors and psychologists who provide professional, evidence-based counselling services. We are able to refer students to meet or talk to counsellors or psychologists from LIFE SUPPORTS.
FIRST AID FACILITIES
In the case of a serious illness or injury occurring on campus, please report the incident to the Student Services Office. A first aid kit is available in the Student Services office.
ORIENTATION PROGRAM
IMC offers all new students orientation program which allows students to get familiar with the services, support, facilities and amenities in and around the campus. The orientation program also contains important information about student VISA requirements and living in Australia for international students.
The program will offer new students a great opportunity to know more about IMC and to gain information about where they can find support if needed. All new students, both domestic and international students are required to attend orientation program.
Apart from the orientation program, IMC’s Student Services team also offers in-classroom presentations for new students. This will give the students a chance to ask any questions they may have and Student Services can talk about the services and support that is available as well as some important information about student VISAs, safety issues, and much more.

Hobart is Tasmania’s capital city and the second oldest capital in Australia, after Sydney. LANGUAGE
In the 2016 census, a recorded population of 86.5% spoke only English at home. The other languages most commonly spoken at home were Standard Mandarin (1.3%) Greek (0.5%), Nepali (0.4%), German (0.4%) and Italian (0.3%).
WEATHER
Australian seasons are the reverse of the seasons experienced in China, Europe, and North America. The summer months in Australia are from December to February, autumn is from March to May, winter is from June to August and spring is September to November. Hobart experiences four distinct seasons, each with its own beauty and charm.

CLOTHING
The Australian sun can be very fierce so if you plan on arriving in the summer-time, wear plenty of high factor sunscreen and a hat. Lightweight clothing such as t-shirts, shorts, light cotton pants and dresses are desirable. Arriving during winter shouldn’t be much of a problem as the temperature is often in the low ‘teens’. Warm woollen sweaters and jackets will be needed to keep you reasonably comfortable.
TRANSPORT
While Hobart is smaller than most of Australia’s major cities, it still has plenty of transport options for visitors including buses, driving, and walking. There is practical information on getting around Hobart to help make moving around the city very simple.
Getting to and from the AirportThe SkyBus shuttle is an easy way to get to Hobart Airport from the city. The bus drops and collects passengers from many hotels in Hobart, and the timetable meets all flights arriving and departing from Hobart Airport.
ACCOMMODATION
Students can obtain information about accommodation options by contacting IMC student support staff; however, no accommodation is pre-arranged or personally provided for individual students by IMC.There are several options for accommodation, including renting a house or an apartment, renting a room, sharing with other students and homestay. You can find this information through social media, your friends’ or classmates’ recommendations, newspaper advertisements or on public notice areas around Hobart. IMC staff can assist students to find accommodation. Although accommodation is usually readily available, the beginning of each semester is a very busy time and accommodation may take a little longer to find during these periods. Homestay with an Australian family who provide accommodation and meals is a good option for international students.
